  • Double Helix paddler, Kurt Zimmermann, presents a slide show for friends, family and community in his home town in Austria, December 2001
  • Double Helix paddler, Kurt Zimmermann, presents a slide show for the Small Boat Show (CT), Fall 2001
  • Double Helix on display at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Wallingford, CT, during the United Way fundraiser.
  • Double Helix displayed at Rett Syndrome Fundraiser in Middletown, CT. This fun "hair-cutting" fundraiser was held and run by the Don and Betty Lemon, in honor of their daughter, who has Rett syndrome.
  • Cheshire Rotary Club Dinner and Speaker Event, Clark Eid as the talks about the Great Mississippi River Race for Rett Syndrome, October, 2001
  • Cheshire, Connecticut Fall Festival, September 15, 2001, featuring the Double Helix. Posters, Race Videos and Team Members will be available during the Festival to talk about the race.
  • WalMart in Wallinford CT - Race Video and Fundraiser, August 2001 to September 2001. Over $800 raised by donations from the community. WalMart is working with us to run future fundraisers for Rett syndrome research at other local stores in Connecticut.
  • Clark Eid and the Double Helix visit Highland School in Cheshire, CT to talk about the Race and the Double Helix. A fundraiser was held by the school staff during the winter of 2001 for Rett syndrome research. Many thanks to the dedicated staff and students at Highland school! June, 2001
  • Clark Eid and the Double Helix visit Cheshire High School to talk about the Race and the Double Helix. Teacher Steve Bertenshaw, additional staff and students donated a support boat for use during the race. Steve Bertenshaw and students ran a fundraiser during the race itself, raising approximately $1000 for Rett Syndrome Research! Many thanks! April 2001
