Team Double Helix - Pictures During the Race

Team Double Helix, early days of race on the Mississippi River.

L to R, Clark Eid, Kurt Zimmemann, early days of the race in Minnesota.

Team Double Helix paddlers Clark Eid and Kurt Zimmermann on flooded waters.

Kurt Zimmerman paddles hard while Clark Eid sleeps under the happy hut. The forward compartment of the Double Helix was designed so that one person could sleep/rest as the other continued to paddle.

Paddle fast! L to R, Kurt Zimmemann and Clark Eid face just another obstacle on a trip that just never quite seems to end.....

Road Crew of Team Double Helix, Brainerd Dam Falls. L to R Andrew Gribble, Edith Paule, Hans, Tony Swenson, Eric Marshall, Tammy Hanson holding on to daughter Rachel with husband Bob and daughter. Unidentified 2 persons to right.

Clark Eid, Tammy Hanson (red shirt), Rachel Hanson (in front), and Clark Eid at Aitken, MN. Rachel Hanson has Rett syndrome. Tammy Hanson and family were part of a large group of local families from Minnesota that cheered the teams on from the Headwaters of the Mississippi River!

The road crew and paddlers towards the end of the race in much warmer (ok, hot, humid tropical) weather near New Orleans, LA wondering just how much further the end is (are we there yet?). L to R: Kurt Zimmermann, Eidth Paule, not sure (but I think this is Hans sitting) , Andrew Gribble standing, not sure (but I think this might be Bill Evans), and Clark Eid standing.

Road Crew with vans and support boats, somewhere near Venice, LA. L to R: Bill Schmidtz standing, Andrew Gribble sitting, wishing his knees felt better (bad bug bites). You can see the 2 support vans and the support boats they pulled the entire length of the Mississippi.
