Catch Another Great! Adventure at The Mississippi River Challenge for Rett Syndrome and Leukodystrohpy, May 2003

Position Listing on the Web Site
The Great Mississippi River Race for Rett Syndrome, May 2001

Positioning of paddlers on the water during the Great Mississippi River Race for Rett Syndrome, May 2001, changed dramatically at times over the course of the day.

For website purposes, we tried to make our "best guess" of positioning at a given point in time twice a day during check in time which occurred generally over a 2 hour window. The listing of positioning listed may or may not reflect actual or the majority of positioning for several reasons:

  • Persons calling in were calling in for primarily safety check in purposes, not for positioning results during the actual race.
  • It is not always clear at times that teams called in the location they saw the paddlers at, the position they were expecting the paddlers at, or position of the actual paddlers.
  • Check in time was over a 2 hour period.
  • River mileage was not always recorded and/or known.
  • Time was not always given/recorded correctly by persons taking calls (calls were made at CST, callees were often on EST).
  • Night time check in information may be misleading in particular since that may have been a stopping point for a team travelling all day ahead of other teams and simply stopped first - additional teams may have just "past" that point later by a few miles and called that in.....

As we receive updates and log entries after the race we may be better able to indicate positioning during the race more accurately. All teams are welcome to submit full log books and information for purposes of the website to be listed under their team page (or we can link to the page a team sets up).

This website simply indicates our "best guess" of position approximately at time of check in.
